Metallic coatings play a significant role in various industries as electrical contacts, antibacterial coatings in medical applications, or as electrical heating elements. Due to the high material costs of some metals current research activities focus on High Velocity Suspension Flame Spraying (HVSFS) to produce thin, functional and cost-efficient coatings including the production of suspensions, suitable for the process in regard to stability and rheological properties, as well as the development of a stable coatings process.
